You’ve got Alaska cruise questions, we’ve got answers!

Today, we’re answering your Alaska cruise questions. Everything from the year long ban to alternative options for visiting the 49th state. Why are we talking about Alaska when we may not be able to cruise there this year? Well, the simple answer is that there is still plenty of interest in cruising Alaska. Alaska cruises are SO popular and a great way to explore the 49th state. You can expect dramatic scenery, glaciers, wildlife wide open space.

Yes, there is currently a ban in place, so let’s talk about that for a moment. The Canadian government extended a ban on cruise ships until at least 2022 just weeks before its initial restrictions were set to expire. This ban, which has been extended until Feb. 28, 2022, applies to all cruise vessels carrying more than 100 people. It was first implemented in March 2020 and was set to expire Feb. 28, 2021. We aren’t sure what will happen with the ban. Perhaps cruise lines will find a solution before the year end, but that all remains to be seen.

  • Love this podcast - so many tips!
November 8, 2023 by Berrmic from United States

I’ve listened to many cruise related podcasts and this is the best by far. So many wonderful tips! I’ve become a carry-on only traveler because of CTTV and love being able to avoid the long walk to retrieve my luggage. I took the cruise line personality quiz on the CTTV website and we absolutely loved our first Holland America cruise. Much better fit than our previous cruises. I am always going back to previous episodes to pick up tips and advice I may have missed. Thank you CTTV!
