Two Awesome Drink Recipes

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo (or any occasion!) with these two awesome drink recipes!

Did you Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us? We had a blast! We went live on May 5, and mixed up two tequila based cocktails and many of you asked for detailed recipes!

Now, it’s your turn! Bring your mixology skills, and prep the following fresh ingredients, along with some silver tequila (yum!) for some fun, cruise-inspired concoctions that will have you dreaming of the high seas. Ready? Check out these two awesome drink recipes below.

We’ll start with the Paloma, a margarita with a grapefruit twist! This drink is SO refreshing.

Watch out, it will sneak up on you! We think it can be delicious with a full two ounces of tequila, so adjust if needed.

Oh, and this cocktail would be wonderful served in a pitcher for the whole gang. Just add sparkling water to and fresh fruit to the individual serving glasses. If you want to keep it even more simple, skip the rimmed glass altogether!

Paloma

Paloma two awesome drink recipes
  • 1 1/2 oz. (45 ml) blanco tequila (we used 1800 silver)
  • 3 oz. (90 ml) fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz. (60 ml) sparkling water
  • Thin lime and grapefruit slices for garnish
  • Salt and lime zest to rim the glass

Directions: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine tequila, lime and grapefruit juice. Shake vigorously, about 30 seconds, then strain into an ice-filled, salt and lime zest rimmed glass. Top with the sparkling water and stir gently to combine. Garnish with lime and grapefruit slices and serve immediately. Makes 1 drink.

Next up, it’s a classic “spicy marg”. I love spicy drinks, and depending on how spicy you like yours, you can add as many (or few) jalapeno slices as you’d like. Also, remember that the seeds are VERY spicy, so remove those if you’d like to keep it tame!

The fresh squeezed juices in this awesome drink recipe is what makes this refreshing and perfect for a Spring or Summer evening on the patio!

Jalapeño Margarita

Jalapeño Margarita two awesome drink recipes
  • Ice 2 oz. silver tequila
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons light agave nectar
  • 1/4 to 1/2 jalapeno pepper- sliced thin
  • Lime wedges & additional jalapeno slices for serving

Directions: Rim the glass: Pour a thin layer of salt onto a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the top edge of your glass to moisten it, then dip the glass into the salt so that it sticks. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.

Fill a small cocktail shaker with additional ice. Add the tequila, lime juice, orange juice, agave, and jalapeno slices. Tightly close and shake vigorously for 30 seconds (it’s longer than you think). Strain into the rimmed glass. Enjoy immediately, garnished with lime wedges and additional jalapeno slices.
