Star Princess Day 5 – La Paz

56

Join us on Star Princess as we are guided by Red Travel Mexico in La Paz, BCS on a day trip to snorkel with whale sharks, soak up Balandra Bay, and marvel at the Sea of Cortez. Our plan was to visit Isla Espiritu Santo, but the wind picked up, and we changed plans. We started by navigating to area where whale sharks congregate, seasonally from about November to March. We plunged in to the ocean and before we knew it, we were feet from these giant creatures that tip their bodies upward to feed. Nothing can prepare you for swimming alongside whale sharks. It’s an adrenaline rush, despite their gentle nature. After our whale shark experience, we visited a sea lion colony and a colony of blue-footed booby (boobies), which can also be found in the Galapagos. Finally, we explored the Bay in search of a beach to roam and enjoy lunch. We chose one of the 7 beaches at Balandra Bay, and were totally alone most of the time. Our guide, Mario prepared fresh ceviche, fruit and we ate yards from the sea. We roamed the beach, spotted seashells, and ran down the sand dunes until it was time to return to our home for 10 days, the Star Princess. Special thanks to Red Travel Mexico for making our Baja adventure unforgettable.
