We visit KeeLung Taiwan on our Princess cruise

Welcome back to our Diamond Princess Asia Cruise vlog series. Today we are in Keelung, Taiwan. During this cruise we’ll cover 2800 nautical miles and visit Tokyo, Shimizu, Osaka, Taipei (Keelung), Hong Kong, Nha Trang & Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam, and Singapore.
We start off the day with a quick view of Keelung from our balcony cabin aboard the Diamond Princess. We give you a look at how we pack our day bag for our Keelung excursion, and then we head out to catch our tour bus. The first stop is Yehliu Geopark. This is a beautiful area, and features breathtaking ocean views, and interesting geological formations.

Perhaps the most famous formation is Queen’s Head rock. We took our photos at the Queen’s Head replica in the visitor’s area because our guide correctly predicted long lines at the original Queen’s Head rock formation. It was quite cold and windy there, but we still had a terrific time at Yehliu. After a brief visit to the market located in the parking lot of Yehliu Geopark we hop back on the bus. Our next stop is Tien Lai Hotel Resort & Spa. There we were treated to a delicious buffet, and outfitted with towels, locker keys, and shower caps for a lengthy visit to the hot springs. Yes, we all walked around in shower caps.

I must say a shower cap is not my favorite fashion accessory, but when in Rome … After an incredibly relaxing soak in the hot springs we once again boarded the tour bus, and headed up the mountain to the Yangmingshan National Park. It was cold, and foggy. It was so foggy we really couldn’t see anything. Given the lack of visibility and the extreme cold, we cut the visit short, and quickly returned to the warmth of the tour bus. Back on the ship we had a little fun surprise for our son. The Spa presented him with a $50 gift certificate to the spa. You’ll want to stick around until the end of the vlog to see how his first spa visit turns out.
