Explora Journeys Announces Inaugural Alaskan Journey for Spring 2024

Geneva, Switzerland, June 16, 2022 – Explora Journeys today announced that Alaska will feature as a new addition to EXPLORA I’s unique journeys collection. The luxury lifestyle travel brand has revealed three incredible new journeys departing from Vancouver, Canada, that will provide a rare opportunity for guests to explore untouched Alaskan wilderness from a unique perspective. In doing so, each journey will achieve the brand’s aim in allowing guests to embrace enticing destinations and create lifelong memories, all done with minimal impact on the natural environments for which Alaska is best known.

The Remote Wrangell and Spectacular Sitka Inaugural Alaskan Journey will depart Vancouver on May 6, 2024 and this 11-night journey will sail the Inside Passage, Wrangell, Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan, Misty Fjord, Victoria and back to Vancouver on May 17, 2024.

Sailing the Whale’s Highway is an 11-night journey that includes, Icy Strait Point (Hoonah and the Hubbard Glacier whilst Journey of the Glaciers is a 10-night journey that will visit coastlines sculpted by rivers of jagged ice; navigating islands scattered like jigsaw pieces across cobalt bays. Mendenhall Glacier, Misty and Tracy Arm Fjords — ephemeral landmarks will leave a lasting impression and memories.

These journeys will highlight the visceral power of Alaska and a world of new adventures. Guests will be able to connect with the native cultures and experience landscapes that cannot be seen or experienced anywhere else on earth.

Each unique journey will have its own personality and opportunity for adventure from experiencing the crack and gurgle of the Mendenhall Glacier – a remnant of the last ice age, flying over the sweeping wilderness or observing nature at its most powerful with the sights of brown bears, hunting salmon or humpback whales breaching calm, ice-cold waters. For those looking to take things at a slower pace, there will be plentiful options, all of which will revolve around a state where ecotourism sits at the very forefront – allowing guests to feel enriched from their connection with nature and the wilderness.

Both on board and ashore, guests will have ample of opportunity to explore the cuisine that Alaska has to offer. Hike, bike, paddle, trek wildlife, or board a seaplane to soar across the Tongass National Forest.
